It starts off well with a very well-defined, pure and transparent bouquet: citrus peel, apricot blossom and a touch of fig. The palate is well balanced with a taut line of acidity, great tension, and a sense of reserve (but sophistication) on the finish.
The palate is well balanced and quite powerful, with a lightly honeyed texture. It builds in the mouth towards what is a rich and convincing finish that will leave you wanting more. Excellent.

The palate is crisp and vibrant on the entry with touches of lemon peel, walnut and a hint of dried orange peel toward the finish. It would need to show a little more breeding on the finish to merit a higher appraisal, but this is a fine Caillerets.
The 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Romanee is generous on the nose with scents of creme brulee and hazelnut that are very intense. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with crisp acidity, a touch of sour lemon and a lovely fresh, tense finish.
Jadot’s 2010 Meursault Charmes is rich, explosive and powerful. I can see the temptation to drink the Charmes early as it is quite expressive, but the wine really needs time to settle down. Endless layers of fruit build to the huge, dramatic finish.
